CHIO Aachen from June 29th - July 8th The capital city of the Samba is coming to Aachen

This year the CHIO Aachen (June 29th – July 8th), one of the most famous equestrian sport events in the world, is going to be hallmarked by this year’s CHIO partner, Rio de Janeiro. 125 Brazilians and 80 horses will be bringing the Rio Carnival to Aachen and they will celebrate a Brazilian party with the visitors at the Soers in Aachen.  Among others, there will be performances by the world famous “Grande Rio Samba School”.

WUEC goes RWTH FH SPORTS DAY 2012

At the "institute competition" of this year's RWTH FH SPORTS DAY on the May 15th 200 participants could already check out the WUEC obstacle. In one of 6 stations of the competition the obstacle had to be "crossed" in a ability course. We hope that the participants of the WUEC do not copy the sportsteams of the RWTH FH SPORTS DAY in summer, but "overcome" the obstacle.

Hans Wittl displays his Paintings in CHIO Showrooms in Aachen

For more than 50 years, Hans Wittl has been painting the CHIO Aachen. For the first time, many of his aquarelles are to be seen in one place. The exhibition „Hans Wittl: Bilder aus fünf Jahrzehnten CHIO“ (Hans Wittl: Paintings of five decades CHIO) was opened in front of roughly 100 guests in the office on the show grounds at Aachen’s Soers.

Student Riders Nations Cup Germany 2012 in Tübingen

This year, there is also the Student Riders Nations Cup in Germany which is hosted by the Student Equestrian Clubs Tübingen and Stuttgart. They welcome student riders from Germany and abroad from July 5th – 9th at the “Landeschampionatsgelände” (regional championship area) in Tübingen.

WUEC 2012 – Behind the Scenes

This time, we want to present to you the Aachen University Sports Department (HSZ). Its primary task is to organize sports classes for more than 45,000 students of Aachen’s universities. Moreover, it organizes numerous sport mass gathering events in Aachen and its city region.
